A CT scan, also known as a Computerized Tomography scan or CAT scan, is a computer-assisted X-ray scanner. A narrow X-ray is directed at the body and is immediately rotated. The resulting X-ray measurements are then processed by advanced computer software that provides images of the cutting parts (or "pieces") of specific body parts with great detail and adjustment to see in-depth without the need for an invasive process.
What Exactly is a CT Scan?

How Does it work?

While the scan is taking place, the radiographer uses a scanner from a nearby room. The radiographer will use a scanner from the next room. Patients can communicate with them through an intercom.
Each time a scan is taken, patients will need to lie still and breathe normally. This ensures that the images are not blurred. The radiologist will discuss this with you on the day of your scan in detail. The whole scan will take about 10-20 minutes from start to finish.
